11.4Fractious – Rift Theory (Trapez)

Fractious Rift Theory

Well the weekend has almost arrived and we are looking forward to our gig in Glasgow for the Pyramatrix boys alongside Harvey Mckay on Saturday!

Obviously we are on the lookout for some bombs to land up in Scotland with and we have a found a few gems, one of which is this slice of techno from Northern Ireland’s Fractious.

Once again Trapez are on form delivering a very strong E.P here with some great remixes included from Frankyeffe, Luigi Madonna and Danilo Vigorito. You should check out all of the tracks on the E.P but for us the track “Rift Theory” really stood out. It’s the slowest track on the E.P at 123 bpm but it still packs a serious punch and has a really solid groove. This is the first time we have come across Fractious but we will be sure to keep an eye on his future productions and we are sure you will too after listening to the E.P. We also love the Luigi Madonna remix. It will be getting a few Scottish ravers whipped up into a frenzy on Saturday night, that’s for sure!. Check out both the original and remix below!

9.4Ron Carroll – Brighter Day (Ron Costa Remix)

Ron Costa NOYZ

We are still here guys! We have both been on well earned vacations but we are back and ready to provide you with new and most importantly AMAZING techno!

As you must have gathered we are very big fans of a certain Frenchman named Ron Costa and as I have just arrived back from Paris I thought it was only right I share his latest BOMB release. This time it’s a remix for the legendary Ron Carroll.

You will know what to expect by now. A solid but skippy groove, a growling low end and and an atmosphere that just draws you in and leaves you wanting more!  Ron has used the vocal just enough to pay homage to the original but not step away from his usual style. We love the dark bass stab that acts as a hook throughout the remix. Ron really adheres to the phrase simple but effective. He always uses a minimal amount of elements but they all work in harmony with each other. There is an art to that form of production and he has certainly mastered it!  Enough talk, here is the remix!

26.3Jose M. & Tacoman – Kick The Warehouse E.P (Trapez)

Jose M & Tacoman Warehouse E.P Trapez NOYZ

Jose M. & Tacoman – Kick The Warehouse E.P (Trapez)

What a way to start the week with the latest release from one of our favourite labels at NOYZTrapez.

In our opinion Trapez are one of the most consistent labels around, Always pushing new and exciting talent whilst managing to keep the quality at the highest level. The label has a real identifiable sound and has carved out its own place in the underground which is very difficult in a world where running a label is accessible to all. In case you missed them check out two other recent releases on the label that we have supported from our good friend Arjun Vagale and also this awesome E.P that we posted about from Italian producer Nick Olivetti.

This latest E.P from Jose M. & Tacoman has all the usual Trapez ingredients, heavy drums, a ferocious low end and most importantly plenty of groove. We have been keeping our eye on these two Columbian producers for a while now. As described in their biography, Jazz, Funk and Soul are their guns to flood the dance floor. They definitely live up to this statement. We see a bright future ahead for these guys!

The E.P consists of 3 tracks titled “What Are You Watching”, “Warehouse” and “Kick This”. It’s a solid affair all round so we thought it was only right to give you a taste of all 3 tracks.

23.3Mladen Tomic – Dance Of Shadows E.P (SCI+TEC)

Mladen Tomic – Dance Of Shadows E.P (SCI+TEC)

SCI+TEC return with yet another huge release and this time it’s Bosnian rising star Mladen Tomic at the helm. We have come to expect high quality releases from SCI+TEC but the music coming from the label seems to be getting stronger with each release. Many young producers look up to Dubfire and it’s a testament to his character that he recognises this and gives such a great platform for them to be able to showcase their music and talent. Dubfire has a great system of being able to test out many of the demos he gets sent for the label during his rigorous touring schedule. This allows his to see first hand which tracks are really working with the crowd which we are sure is playing a huge part in why SCI+TEC is so formidable as a label right now.

Mladen Tomic fits into the above category perfectly. Dubfire has been a long time supporter of Mladen’s music and so it was just a matter or time before Ali picked up an E.P for SCI+TEC. It was definitely worth the wait and we feel this is without doubt some of Mladen’s strongest work to date! He has been steadily building a solid fan base over the last few years with an array of impressive releases on labels such as Octopus, Terminal M and of course his very own Night Light Records which he runs with his close friend and fellow Bosnian Sinisa Tamamovic. This feels like another step forward for Mladen and it’s great to see his hard work and determination paying off and we are looking forward to seeing him progress further!

Its rare for Ali to pick up 4 tracks for an E.P on the label but we can see how he would have had a hard time turning down any of the bombs on offer here. All 4 are perfectly crafted techno records that have Mladen’s signature groove all over them. We agree with Ali on the lead track though, Fittingly titled “First Choice” is an absolute monster, we dare you to try and sit still whilst listening to it!.

18.3Label Spotlight – Rawthentic Music

Rawthentic Music NOYZ Audio

We are really pleased to welcome Carlo Lio‘s Rawthentic Music for our latest Label Spotlight at NOYZ. Carlo kindly took the time out ahead of the latest release on the label by Bimas to answer our questions and give us an insight into what the future holds for the fledgling imprint.

Hey Carlo, First of all, thank you for taking part in our label spotlight feature here at NOYZ. As you have probably seen from the site we are huge fans of your music and Rawthentic so its a great honour to have you grace our pages!

No problem! Thanks for the support!

1. Rawthentic was created in 2005 by Nathan and Jason Borato. You soon joined forces with the brothers. How did that partnership come about?

Well Nathan was one of my fav djs and still is. I used to go watch him back in the day before I even had my first gig. We became really close over the years and shortly after he started Rawthentic I was thinking about doing the label thing to as well. So thats when he asked me to jump on board and I did.

2. How would you explain the musical direction of Rawthentic and how do you think that has developed over time?

Well Rawthentic I feel really sticks to it’s guns. Especially over the past 3 or 4 years where I feel it has really came into its sound. It def. emphasizes on the word RAW and the music bleads it. Nitty Gritty stripped down chuggy sexy dark hypnotic house & techno and everything in between.

3. You must receive a lot of demos. What advice can you give to producers who would like to get their music signed to Rawthentic?

We do receive TONS of demos and its absolutely impossible to listen to the all. The best thing I can say to these new cats who are looking to be on the label is “Listen to the Label” then decide if you fit or not. It would make all of our lives much easier. 97% of the demos really dont fit, and its something every artist should know when sending music to any label.

4. You have obviously kept a consistent release schedule with over 70 releases so far. What have been the biggest challenges facing the label over the last 7 years?

Well I would def say the biggest challenge for the label is myself. My career is obviously my priority so having to focus on that sometimes takes away from the label. With all the touring and gigs its not easy to give RAW the full focus I want to. But this is def changed and now with some help the label will get the full attention it deserves and we are pushing extra strong from here on out!

5. We noticed that you still sell your releases on vinyl. Do you do this for every release and what are your thoughts on Vinyl as a format moving into the future?

We do not do this for every release. The vinyl world is still a diff ball game compared to the digital world. Theres artist that you see sell tons on beatport but wouldnt sell much on vinyl. As for the future of vinyl. I can only see it getting better. It never died as people say it did. Maybe went down hill for a minute but it never left us. I still have the warm feeling inside when holding my own release on a record and i think many feel the same way.

6. What are your thoughts on piracy from a labels perspective and do feel that the problem is worsening?

My thoughts are simple. IT REALLY SUCKS!! But I am a realist and I know there is nothing that can be done about it. It is what it is and i dont let that problem get in head. Its a shame because we all work so hard as producers and put in obscene amounts of time to give people our art and within minutes have it online for free, but again; the issue it to out of hand. I dont know how much worse it can get but I def dont see it getting much better.

7. How do you find the time to manage running the label whilst also touring the world and having your own individual release schedule?

Yea I sometimes ask myself the same thing. Up until a few months ago I was doing all this myself. Needless to say its been everything but easy. But I love the label and I love this game and thats what it really comes down to. I make time.

8. What are your plans for the future for Rawthentic?

Growing the label is def always the goal. But eventually I would  like to start with Rawthentic Parties when the time is right and the label has reached that level. But my main goal is to keep releasing quality music I love and the RAW followers love.

9. Can you give us any information about future releases and any new producers that you are working with that we should look out for?

Some artists you will see upcoming on the label are / Figuera & Obando, Technasia, Onno, Bimas, The Junkies, Myself, Saso Recyd Clio.

As for myself I have some new things up on Mindshake, Scitec, Saved, Rawthentic … but there will be much more.. Now I am finally back in the studio, so that list should grow :)

10. This is probably the most difficult question of all but is there one particular Rawthentic release that is your favourite?

Def a diff Question but i would have to say my fav release is Clio – Your Eyes w/ Leon remix. Just cant get enough of it.

Thanks again Carlo!

Check out the latest release on Rawthentic by the very talented Bimas. A very solid E.P with two strong remixes from Onno and Nikola Gala.

14.3Fideles – Old Boy Feat. Kcentric (Original Mix) ['On The Run Vol.6' Inmotion Music]

inmotion various artists

If there is one thing you can ‘bet the house on’ when it comes to Kareem Cali‘s Inmotion Music label, it is a place where you will always find the freshest Tech-House and it’s a breeding ground for new artists to shine through.

The latest release from the ‘On The Run’ series titled ‘Vol.6′ follows on musically in the form Inmotion has set from the word get go, clever, concise, and well produced Tech House grooves that really stand out. The 6th edition features five exclusive tracks from new up and coming talent such as Wade, Mario De Ragnio, and Massimo Cassini.

Italian based Danylo Aprile & Mario Roberti share a love for everything House orientated, and after producing together on countless projects their artist alias ‘Fideles‘ was born. The guys headline the EP with their track “Old Boy Feat. Kcentric (Original Mix)”, and rightfully so down to their use of clever vocals along with funky drums and deep rolling percussion, a sure fire way to rock crowds and send shockwaves out into the underground.

5.3Dave Brody – Repeat (Hermanez & Massimo Girardi Remix) [Push It Records]

Dave Brody - Repeat (Hermanez & Massimo Girardi Remix) [Push It Records]

Techno Tuesday has a late night ‘Bomb wonder’ in store here at NOYZ!

Hermanez has reoccurred again and again here at NOYZ, and rightfully so down to his relentless production style and how he constantly brings fresh ideas to the table. Michael Coninx AKA Hermanez has refined his skills as a producer since first releasing in 09′. Rolling through his back catalogue you will find the man himself has confidently dabbled with different genres of House and Techno until finding his own groove of Tech-House laden with all the energy of modern day Techno bangers!

His releases have found homes at labels such as Suara, Noir, Kling Klong, and Trapez Ltd. For this remix he teams up with fellow Belgium-born brother in arms, Massimo Girardi. Massimo is a guy who has been in the game for over 2 decades and has a wealth of experience under his belt. Massimo and Michael’s sound are distinct yet comparable at the same time, which is why they have teamed up multiple times both as producers and as DJs.

The track we are bringing you today is their remix of another Belgium native, Dave Brody‘s ‘Repeat’ out now on Push It Records. The track is a thick, tough, minimal take on the original full of white noise fx and live drums. Take note of the haunting organic pads also that scrunch into 8bit digital randomness, this contrast adds something cool to the mix and keeps us guessing, which is probably a good thing at 4am, right?! Anyway, enjoy!

You can purchase the full EP here, check out Dave Brody’s original also as it is a heavy hitting peak time Techno destroyer!

21.2Kaiserdisco Presents KD Music Vol.2

Kaiserdisco Presents KD Music Vol 2 Artwork NOYZ Audio

It’s hard to believe that Kaiserdisco‘s label KD Music is just over a year old. Since the first release in late 2011 Frederic and Patrick have quickly built a reputation for releasing some of the most forward thinking techno you will hear. Whilst using the label as a platform to release their own music they have also pushed very exciting artists such as Hollen, Arjun Vagale and Alex Costa into the limelight. The latest release on the label is the second instalment of their Kaiserdisco presents KD Music compilation series.

The compilation is a mixture of tracks from KD music roster artists, friends of the label and tracks that have been sent into the label for consideration. All the tracks have been tried and tested by the guys themselves and you can hear the full track listing in a continuous Kaiserdisco DJ mix that is available to purchase with the package. We highly recommend you check the mix out!!

So as usual we struggled to pick one track from the compilation so we chose two!

Our first pick comes from Mladen Tomic with his remix of Arjun Vagale & Tim Richard‘s track ‘Tonkatsu’. Its a huge techno groover with an infectious bassline that we are just dying to hear out on a big system! See if you agree!…..

Our second choice comes from the main men themselves, Kaiserdisco with their retouch of Betoko – Before I Lose Control. This is a little deeper than we usually go at NOYZ but this track more than warrants it,  a timeless record that should get you in the mood for the weekend ahead!

8.2Germán Brigante – Syndrome James (Material)

german brigante

Tech House groover and fan favourite, Germán Brigante has a style that is so simple in it’s delivery to the dance floor yet production wise is as intricate and technical as any record you can find out today. Since releasing his music from the start of 2010 the Spanish native has dabbled in the deeper side of House, as his sound developed his tracks became tougher and almost experimental at times.

Germán has had releases on some of the underground’s big hitters such as Trapez, Be As One, and Material. The latter of which hosts this latest release which is a five track EP called ‘Look It’s Me’. Germán touches base with some deep vocal sounds and contrasts that with emotion filled electronica track ‘In’, a brave thing to do on a five track EP. This goes to show how much confidence he has moving forward not simply sticking to genres’ common boundaries.

The track we have for you is a chuggy Tech House BOMB with live drums and a sound that screams ‘New School’ through it’s inescapable groove and non stop energy!

Enjoy ‘Syndrome James’

5.2Fabian Argomedo & Altamirano – Spark E.P (KD Music)

Fabian Argomedo & Altamirano - Spark E.P NOYZ AUdio

Fabian Argomedo & Altamirano – Spark E.P (KD Music)

The latest instalment from Kaiserdisco‘s label KD Music is provided by Fabian Argomedo and Altamirano.

KD Music has been responsible for some of our favourite releases here at NOYZ over the last 6 months. You may remember we featured Alex Costa’s massive Night Garden E.P on the label last year. If you missed it you can check it out here. The label seems to be really growing and also nurturing a lot of very talented up and coming producers who obviously take a lot of inspiration from the huge grooves of Kaiserdisco themselves.

Young Chilean producer Fabian has been steadily developing his sound and this release on KD Music really seems to signify him finding his style. We are looking forward to hearing what else he has in store to follow on from this release. We can’t find too much info on Altamirano but if this E.P is anything to go by we are sure you will be seeing and hearing more of these two producers very soon!.

Our pick of the three tracks on the E.P is the title track “Shake”. It has an infectious groove with plenty of well placed live drums that keep things interesting . The marimba style lead really works to build tension in the breakdown before the track comes in full force with a dark and dangerous bassline that really solidifies the groove. The vocal chops finish things off perfectly and it all just works to create one massive BOMB!

Check it out below.
