We are very pleased to welcome Alex Costa for our third Podcast at NOYZ.
We are huge fans of Alex and his groove laden productions. He has released music on some of the biggest labels in underground electronic music including Octopus, Suara and Intacto whilst earning support from many of the key figures in Techno.
We are looking forward to an exclusive interview with Alex which will be posted this month so keep an eye out!
In the meantime enjoy this incredible podcast from the man himself!
There must be something in the water in Canada. Two of our favourite producers Carlo Lio and The Junkies hail from Toronto whilst Justin comes from the same place where it all began for Richie Hawtin, Windsor. It must be hard not to be inspired when one of your heroes has grown up on your doorstep and become one of the pioneers of electronic music and Justin has obviously fed off this inspiration and worked hard to create his own sound that to put it plainly ROCKS!. This hard work has paid huge dividends with both Richie Hawtin and Dubfire giving Justin’s tracks a massive amount of support over the last 12 months.
We are featuring the lead track from his E.P today titled “Shallow Dreamer”. The track is based around a very hypnotic percussive lead that keeps growing throughout the track but what really does it for us is that deep chugging bassline that whacks you straight in the chest. Very nice work! We know Justin has some very exciting projects lined up for 2013 so keep you eyes and ears peeled!
You can purchase the full E.P including some great DJ tools on Beatport by clicking here
Also we spoke to Justin and he tells us he is having a release party so if you are in the area click here for event details.
Sable Sheep returns to Be As One with his third E.P on the label titled “My Onslaught”. The E.P is scheduled for release on the 21st January.
As usual from Be As One Records, the release delivers. Here at NOYZ we have a lot of admiration for Shlomi Aber and we are definitely not alone. He has built up a vast following of passionate fans who subscribe to his unique style of Techno. This style has transcended into his label which has become widely recognised as one of the most forward thinking imprints in underground electronic music.
Sable Sheep appears to be building a strong relationship with Be As One and we can see why. His style suits the label and you can instantly hear a talented musician and producer behind his tracks. There is to be an air of mystery around the German producer; something that keeps us guessing and excites us to see what else he has in store for the future. If his first three releases on this label are anything to go by then we can expect some incredible music to come!
All four tracks on the E.P are solid but the pick of the bunch for us is this peak-time techno tool titled “His Betrayal”. The signature Sable Sheep groove is supported by a interesting percussive lead that makes the track bounce. You may think it’s impossible to fall in love with a snare drum, well we have news for you…
Judge for yourself…
Keep your eye out for the full release on Beatport on the 21st January.
Sable Sheep’s first release on Be As One entitled “Painting My Fur” was one of our top tracks last year and always evoked a huge reaction. Check it out below or buy it on Beatport by clicking here
Well Dubfire has delivered the goods right in time with this incredible compilation on his record label SCI+TEC.
SCI+TEC is home to some of our favourite artists here at NOYZ including Carlo Lio, The Junkies, SHADED and obviously Dubfire himself. The label has consistently discovered and developed new and exciting artists and helped them to reach their full potential. The music that we hear from the label is always pushing the boundaries and driving techno forward which is what Dubfire has always done in his own career as an artist.
The compilation spans across many genres and is a selection of both new unreleased music and some classics. Its a really interesting listen and gives you an insight into Dubfires music tastes outside of techno.
You can preview and purchase the complete compilation on Beatport by clicking here.
We couldn’t decide on one particular track as our favourite so we chose TWO! It is Xmas after all, well maybe Xmas has gone but we can drag it out a little further if it means more techno! Thats fair enough right?
Here is our first pick of the bunch from our New Horizons compadre Justin James. Justin is a very talented producer and has some huge releases planned for 2013 so keep your eyes and ears peeled. City Club is a dark stomper that just grooves and kicks in all the right places! Check it out below.
Here is our second selection from the one and only Carlo Lio. This track just has everything and the title is very fitting as it does literally keep grooving from start to finish. Relentless techno at its best and you really need to hear this in a club to appreciate how ridiculously good it is.
WOW. It’s always nice on a Friday afternoon when you come across an amazing track that gets you in the mood for the weekend that lies ahead.
Italian producer Allì Borèm is one of the rising stars of the underground. A release schedule that boasts heavyweight labels such as Desolat, Kling Klong, Rawthentic and Suara demonstrates how highly he is regarded amongst some of the biggest names in our scene. It’s hard to believe that he has just turned twenty years old but this is no fluke. He has been heavily involved in music since a young age and throughout his life developed a strong passion for electronic music. Allì has managed to create a unique sound that really stands out to us here at NOYZ. His tracks have a serious thump in the low end just where we like it and he works with vocals in a very clever and creative way.
We spoke to Allì about his remix and he gave us some insight into how he approached the remix and what he has in store for his label Root 50 in the coming months.
He told us “The remix is definitely a step forward and also a preview of what will be released in the coming months. jump back to the roots, analog stuff … I want to go bright and warm sounds, experimenting, without a computer or digital sequencer”
This remix from Allì is for NOYZ favourite Nick Olivetti & Chase Buch and is available to buy now on Kling Klong. All four tracks on the release are to the usual high standard we have come to expect from Kling Klong and you should definitely check the whole package out.
Here is Allì’s remix,

You may have gathered that at NOYZ we love groove, bass, drums, clever vocals and just crazy shit in general and this track from Nick Olivetti delivers all of those in abundance. Nick is a fantastic producer and he has really mastered the art of keeping things simple and really focusing on a tracks groove. This is very evident when you listen to one of his tracks as its impossible to sit still! Along with the solid grooves that he provides you get a very crisp and defined sound that just sounds awesome on a big sound system.
This track titled “Olympia” is released on Trapez. Trapez have a habit of releasing amazing groove based records like this that are made for the dance floor, we always look forward to the new releases on the label and you should take a closer look at their back catalogue as it is full of gems like this one from Nick!
Also make sure to check out the other track on the E.P titled “Dr Strangelove” and the excellent remix of Olympia by Will Monotone.

What a bomb E.P to get the weekend started from Alex Costa.
Alex is an extremely consistent producer who always delivers huge tracks that have huge amounts of energy. He really knows how to make a track groove and this E.P is a great testament to that!
The E.P is being released on Kaiserdisco‘s label KD Music. In less than a year KD music has grown to become a widely supported label that is really pushing new producers and great tech house and techno. Definitely a label to keep an eye on if you are a fan of the huge groovy and energetic tracks that we are used to hearing from Kaiserdisco themselves!
We usually pick one track from an E.P but we really struggled with this one as all three tracks are fantastic. It just so happens that Alex handily uploaded a soundcloud track which gives you clips of all three! Check it out below!

After a crazy night watching Hector, Guti, Tini and Mr Loco Dice himself destroy Gibb Street Warehouse in Birmingham last night I am feeling a little bit delicate today. This track however has saved the day and perked me right up ready for round two!
Luca Bear is another producer who we have a lot of admiration for at NOYZ. Luca’s production seems to improve with every release and he has a distinct sense of groove that really shines through in his tracks. He has released music on some great labels including Bla Bla, Viva Music, Robsoul and one of our favourite labels here at NOYZ, Gregor Tresher‘s Break New Soil.
This particular track is a remix for Simone Burrini on Moan Recordings. Moan are a young label that formed at the end of 2011 however they have already grown a long list of admirers for their consistently strong releases. We are definitely on that list and always get excited when they release new music. This particular release doesn’t disappoint, all six tracks are excellent but for us its the huge bassline, off beat snares and overall groove of Luca’s remix that literally had me fist pumping the air whist I was sat on my own writing this post!
Here is a clip of the remix.

It was actually very difficult to pick one track from this 5 track E.P but in the end we kept going back to “That Girl”. The track just flows perfectly and I challenge you to sit still whilst listening to it. It’s just a straight up groover. Make sure to check the rest of the E.P as all tracks are equally as solid in our opinion.
You can listen to and buy the rest of the E.P by clicking here
As always please support and share the music!
Still one of our favourite Carlo Lio remixes and as its a remix of one of Santé‘s original tracks we thought it would be rude not to post it. BOMB!
